Land Acknowledgement

Peel District School Board
Peel DSB would like to acknowledge that we are on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation. The acknowledgement recognizes Indigenous heritage and the importance of the land that we are located on. In addition to helping build awareness about one of our local First Nation communities, the acknowledgement also honours the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action about honouring Indigenous people’s historical and contemporary contributions to Canada. Students in all Peel schools will learn about the importance of the acknowledgement through lesson plans produced in collaboration and partnership with the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation through the use of the Sacred Trust resource.

OSSTF District 19
OSSTF District 19 acknowledges and thanks the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation peoples of this territory and other Indigenous peoples for sharing this land so we can come together in a good way.

Clique Communications
Clique Communications acknowledges it resides on the ancestral lands of the Attawandaron people and the treaty lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the New Credit. As a community, Guelph has the responsibility to honour and respect the four directions, land, waters, plants, animals and ancestors.
