Children’s Mental Health Ontario
Children’s Mental Health Ontario (CMHO), founded in 1972 as the Ontario Association of Children’s Mental Health Centres (OACMHC) and renamed in 1999, represents and supports the providers of child and youth mental health treatment services throughout Ontario including more than 80 community-based children’s mental health centres that serve some 150,000 children and their families annually. The CMHO has a child-focused emphasis reflecting a recognition that children’s mental health centres are one part of comprehensive system of health and social services. Any individual or organization committed to CMHO’s goal of a sustainable system of mental health services for Ontario’s youth can now become a member.
